Japan is a tiny island called the country of the rising sun because in ancient times, from China the sun seemed to rise from the direction of this island and the translation of the word Nippon (Nihon) itself literally means “source of the sun”. Here is the perfect place to experience high level technology, Nippon traditions and history, shrines and temples, imperial palaces, cities as Kyoto, Osaka or Tokyo and many others, interesting rules and habits and home of order and cleanliness.
Japan is a unique experience from every possible point of view, here are some reasons (and special thanks to a couple of friends who told me about some places) why you should consider a trip to the land of the rising sun:
- Mount Fuji, the highest peak of the island with its active volcano
- Sakura or the cherry blossom, if you visit Japan at the right time to see
- A speedy ride with Shinkansen train
- Kyoto with its famous historic temple Kiyomizu-Dera or Shinto Shrine Fushimi Inari

- Arashiyama the place of bamboo groove and monkey forest

- Nara –the former Heijo: Nara Park where you will meet hundreds of freely deers, considered in Shinto the messengers of the gods and Horyuji Temple is one of the oldest Nippon temples (founded in 607 as a Buddhist temple) with one of the world’s oldest wooden structure

- Himeji for its impressive castle, even if the city itself invites you for a walk to discover it

- Kobe- one of the major city ports, fast rebuilt after the ravage made by the great earthquake from 1995 when more than 5000 people were killed. Kobe beef is one of the most famous Japanese delicacy
- Osaka with its Osaka castle

- Tokyo with a lot of places ready to be seen: Akihabara-electric town; Nakaokachimachi and Ameyoko for an Asiatic experience; Shibuya railway station; Meiji Temple; Harajuku with people dressed like the cartoon characters; Omote sando for fashion lovers; Shinjuku Railway stations crossed by over 2 million people and Tokyo Metropolitan Building- The Town Hall; The Sky tree; Asakusa temple; Nakamichi- a famous commercial street; Tokyo Station, Yurakucho and imperial garden, Tokyo International Forum, Marunouchi and Ginza areas; Roppongi and Minato districts are great to be seen for architectural aspects or even Ebisu; Tsukijishijo, Shiodome Railway stations and Tsukiji fish market and its morning show; Carezza bulding from Shiodome for its panorama view, Tokyo Tower (the replica of Eiffel Tower); Zojoji, the temple where the wedding from Wolverine was filmed; Disneyland

- Obaida artificial island with its symbol – the Statue of Liberty (the replica), Fuji Building, Venus Fort Mall, Toyota Mega Web, telecom Center, Panasonic Center, Rainbow bridge, Yurikamome-the train without conductor

- Yokohama, the second largest city of Japan and the first port of the country
