Why should you choose Venice?

If you just think about an escape, then, Venice might be just the perfect place to meet your expectations: quiet in the morning and late in the night, crowdy during the day, many things to visit, romantic places, full of art, short trips around, really you won’t be bored here. I came back here after six years and I found Venice maybe more beautiful than I left it, maybe the weather, maybe the will of coming back.
The legend says that the foundation of the city would have been built in March 421 B.C. Mussolini had forbidden the Venetian masks but since the re-launching of the Carnival from 1979, the mask are manufactured and sold in the stores all over the city.
I strongly believe that Venice is a city that is worth to be discovered and everyone will find something to be excited about:
- Basilica San Marco, the cathedral of Venice

- Palazzo Ducale, the residence of Venice rules for more than 900 years and also the residence of the secret police or the Justice Court and also municipal prison ( Casanova was locked here in 18th century). Here is the bridge of sights (Ponte dei sospiri) the last journey of the convicts

- Piazza San Marco, the political and religious center of Venice was once the garden of a monastery, crossed by a river. Now you can find here a lot of museums, elegant coffee shops, artists and a lot of tourists. Here you will see the Basilica, the Clock Tower ( Orologio), The Florian Café

- The Clock Tower with its 2 bronze figurines which hit the bell every hour. The legend says that the workers who built this clock become blind when they tried to rebuild a clock tower like this

- The columns of Saint Marco and Saint Theodor built in 1172 by Nicolo Barattieri, the place of public executions

- Piazzetta dei Leoncini, near the Basilica, where 2 lions made by Verona red stone are the evidence of a former vegetable market (1722)
- Caffe Florian is the first café from Europe and the place still has nowadays the marble tabletop and also golden mirror since 1720
